Holcim Switzerland Order a 3rd ETA Cooler
Holcim has recently placed an order for a new Claudius Peters cooler to replace the old satellite clinker cooler at Holcim's Untervaz plant.
Claudius Peters will supply an ETA Cooler 856 M, which is equipped with an 8 row HE Module, 5 aerated lanes and 6 cooling air chambers to handle a capacity of 2100 t/d BDP. The supply also includes a kiln hood with sealing system and burner platform constructed in steel with pre-fabricated concrete slabs.
This latest technology of cooler utilises exhaust air for waste heat recovery which has the benefits of lower operating costs and less maintenance.
This new order follows on from a recent ETA Cooler which was supplied to Holcim Eclepens.
Before placing the order for Untervaz, Holcim conducted a survey of the operating cost of the ETA cooler compared with other competitive coolers installed at their various plants. The result - the operating cost of the ETA Cooler was evidently lower! This, together with the successful supply and installation of the cooler in Eclepens by the Claudius Peters team, were amongst the deciding factors for the new order.
This is the third ETA cooler for Holcim Switzerland in recent years with all their Holcim plants now equipped with Claudius Peters ETA cooler technology.
