Claudius Peters Symposium in Cairo
One of the key challenges facing the Egyptian cement factory owners at present is the uncertainty of energy supply. It was reported the Egyptian government declared that the subsidisation of natural gas and HFO will gradually be cancelled and the prices will eventually increase within the next two years.
With Cement producers now looking for another source of energy to substitute the unavailable HFO & natural gas; there is a consensus between factory owners and successive governments that coal provides the best alternative solution to the dwindling and then unavailable supply of gas.
To support this enery source topic, Claudius Peters invited a large number of clients in Egypt to a Symposium on the technical and economic aspects of pulverized coal as fuel in the cement, lime and steel industry to discuss possible alternatives.
The event took place in the Dusit Thani Lakeview Hotel in Cairo on January 21st and was well attended. More than 70 participants from cement plants, EPC contractors and engineering companies accepted the Claudius Peters invitation.
Stephan Oehme, Sales & Technology Director, Alf Astle, After Market Director and Territory Sales Engineers Hans-Dieter Nolde, Kamal Ghezelbash and Jean-Christoph Fassel presented the Claudius Peters technology with a questions and answers session afterwards with fruitful discussions continuing during the breaks and over lunch.
At the end of the symposium the participants and the Claudius Peters representatives concluded that numerous technical solutions had been presented to tackle the challenges cement producers are facing in Egypt today.
